The Phoenix Symphony Comes to Wickenburg

On March 3rd, 2001, the WCO played host to the entire Phoenix Symphony at the new Del E. Webb Center. Maestro Robert Moody led the Symphony in an inspired performance of works by Bach, Beethoven and Brahms.

The concert and encore brought the near sell-out audience to its feet for a lengthy standing ovation.

Internationally known conductor, Maestro Hermann Michael, music director of the Phoenix Symphony, Mme. Michael and Kendra Whitlock, general manager of the PS were in the audience. All expressed great interest in the work the WCO is doing for area children.

Thanks once again to the sponsors who helped make this event possible: APS, the Badowskis, R.H. Johnson, Corinne Quayle, Myrna Harrison, the Torgersons, Alex and Janie Boyd, Cam Perks, the Brumders, Jody Anderson, Vi Wellik, the Haights, the Metcalfes, the Griggs, Walter and Bonnie Johnson, Kevin Cloe, the Bromms, Duke and Patricia Drake, Mrs. Augustin Hart, Jr. Chuck Klein, the Swishers, the Kauders, Ben and Pierce Shaw, the Spencers, the Conrads, Art Ditto, Elladean Bittner and Rusty Gant.

Following the concert, 100 guests attended a gala reception at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Dennis Tryon with members of the Phoenix Symphony.

The WCO is planning to bring the Symphony back next season for three marvelous concerts.
