Retracing Wickenburg’s Past

Many descendants of the original settlers still live in Wickenburg and the WCO has started an Oral History Project in order to collect videotaped memories, photos, and documents before they disappear. The WCO plans to work with the D.C. Western Museum on this important project that will benefit the whole town. Documents will be archived and preserved for use by researchers, family members, and teachers. Former Garcia Schoolhouse students are invited to meet on the third Wednesday of each month to share memories and bring photographs. Penny Pietre and Alicia Quesada are combing the archives of the Wickenburg Sun, the School District Office, and the Hayden Library at ASU to find photos and documents that illustrate life in Old Wickenburg.
