The Little Red Schoolhouse Celebrates
The Little Red Schoolhouse rang with joy on Dec. 12th after the town’s annual Light Parade. Wickenburg enjoyed Christmas carols sung by members of The Community Chorus. Their rich voices were accompanied by players Penny Pietre, Carol Bennett, Marina Rauh, Caroline Markham, Rhiannon Huffman, Devon Huffman, Susan Fowler, Elisabeth Fowler, and pianist Florence McInturff. Julie Brooks announced the Light Parade awards in the glow of twinkling decorations (the hanging musical instruments were hand-made by Sabrina Huffman) while community members enjoyed cocoa, hot apple cider, and treats. Children visited with Santa and Mrs. Claus, Ron Carruthers and Sandy Taylor. We wish to thank the following WCO volunteers for adorning Wickenburg’s beloved building: Paul Seibert, Florence McInturff, Nancy London, Devon Huffman, Rhiannon Huffman, Steven Silberberg, Lola Moncrieff, Sabrina Huffman, Audrey Abbott, Owen Black, and Donna Lanz. Brent McKeever supplied the volunteers with a 30-foot ladder used for hanging the lights. The Wickenburg Volunteer Fire Department took time away from friends and family to remove the lights and ensure that the Little Red Schoolhouse is safe.
